As a pediatrician, I strongly recommend making healthy food choices fun for children. This can be achieved through offering colorful fruits and vegetables, involving kids in meal preparation, and being a role model with your own eating habits. Patience and consistency are also key to establishing a healthy routine.

Call me old-fashioned. My children were required to finish everything on their plate before leaving the table. If they wanted seconds, they had to eat everything I prepared. As adults, both my sons are proficient cooks and enjoy a wide variety of foods. This early habit has helped shape their current healthy eating patterns.

Encourage Variety

Introducing a wide range of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can expand your child's palate. Variety not only makes the food more appealing but also ensures they get a balanced diet. Encourage them to try new foods and appreciate the different textures and flavors.

Lead by Example
