The Psychic Medium's Journey: Understanding Their Gifts and Challenges

Being a psychic medium is a unique and often misunderstood gift. It involves connecting with the spirit realm and gaining insights into the lives of those beyond physical existence. This journey is not for the faint-hearted and requires a lot of practice, patience, and an open mind. In this article, we will explore the experiences of a psychic medium, including their early struggles, dealing with skeptics, overcoming obstacles, and the importance of constant exercise to maintain their abilities.

The Journey Begins: Overcoming Initial Struggles

When I first discovered my mediumship abilities, it was overwhelming, confusing, and unpredictable. It felt like learning a second language. The veil, as I call it, is the often imperceptible barrier between the physical and spiritual world. Learning to navigate it is akin to learning to communicate in a new language.

At the beginning of my journey, I needed a lot of practice. I would often test my abilities on friends, coworkers, and anyone who was willing to give it a shot. Surprisingly, some of my most successful readings were done on skeptics. They are often the ones who push me to my limits and help me hone my skills.

Turning Sceptics into Believers

I have yet to have a reading where I failed to communicate with the spirit. Being able to bring forward information that only my sitter would know is always an incredible moment, even after doing it many times. It surprises me every time. For example, a close friend told me she was pregnant, and I mentioned that I had told her two years ago that she would get pregnant this year. Such experiences turn skeptical listeners into believers.

Dealing with Public Places and Spirits

Public places were initially overwhelming. The first encounter I had was during a manicure. I felt a presence as soon as the man sitting next to me entered the salon. I thought I was going crazy, but then I heard her screaming in my head, telling him that she is okay. The presence felt like an anxiety attack, and I could not shake it off. It took a while to understand that these spirits are all around us, and sometimes they decide to make an appearance.

Over time, I learned to block out the spirits. When you are learning your mediumship skills, it's important to learn when to shut it off, as being bothered by spirits indicates inexperience. There is definitely an "on" and "off" button for your abilities—you just need to learn how to flip it.

Dealing with Predictions and the Four Ds

As a medium, there are things you do and do not speak of. Warnings about certain topics like disaster, divorce, death, or disease are among the things you do not discuss. According to Michael Mayo, these topics are referred to as the "4 Ds." However, it can be very exciting to share positive predictions. For instance, a close friend once told me she was pregnant, and I mentioned that I had told her she would get pregnant that year. Despite not always remembering my readings, writing down key notes can be helpful.

Constant Exercise and Maintenance

Just like any other skill, maintaining your medium abilities requires constant practice. Some people can keep their abilities at a high all the time, but others experience lows where they feel as though they have completely lost their abilities. It's important to meditate, sit in the power, and know the difference between your energy and a spirit's energy.

When we mediums get depressed or experience a loss, it can be almost impossible to do a reading. This is why it's important to exercise. Just as muscles deteriorate if not used, so do mediumship abilities. It's about building it back, and it's a constant learning experience. When you become familiar with how your body responds, it will be easier to tap in.

Romantic Relationships and Belief

It's challenging to find someone who will understand or believe in my abilities. Romantic relationships have been particularly difficult since starting my mediumship journey. It's almost a deal-breaker for me because I feel like you have to believe in what I can do to understand how I operate. It's a part of me.

The journey of being a psychic medium is full of challenges and revelations. It's a path that requires patience, self-discovery, and the willingness to embrace the unknown. My advice to new mediums is to be patient with yourself and not wear yourself out too quickly. There are ethics and morals to learn before doing professional readings. Learn to protect your own energy and establish clear boundaries with both spirits and your sitter.

Remember, everyone has the potential to become a medium. It's all about opening yourself to the other side, and it's definitely worth it.
