The Most Disgusting Fanfiction About BTS and Why It's Utterly Off-putting

As a fan of BTS, I must admit that it can be challenging to navigate the vast and diverse landscape of fanfiction featuring the group. However, there are certain pieces that simply go beyond the pale and leave a trail of disgust in their wake. Today, I want to take a deep dive into some of the most disgustingly horrific fanfiction I have encountered, hoping to discourage anyone from engaging with such content.

The Most Creepiest Fanfiction About BTS

First on the list is a fanfiction where members of BTS are portrayed as deeply disturbed and obsessed with a certain y/n character. These same members not only kill close family members to y/n, including her own siblings, but they do so in a way that is both creepy and vile. The author of this fanfiction likely appeals to a younger, more immature audience, garnering a dedicated following of 10-year-old "BTS Army" members. The fact that someone could even conceive of such a story is disturbing, and I myself was traumatized by it.

The story continues with y/n injected with a drug, erasing her memories of the horrifying events. This is simply beyond abhorrent and unspeakable. Much like the story hinges on disturbing and unethical scenarios, the author’s ability to normalize such actions is worse than the actions themselves. It is clear that this is not a story worth recommending, as it is incredibly damaging to mental health.

Blurring the Lines Between Reality and Fiction

Another disturbing story I came across juxtaposed the current lives of BTS members with their past lives. In this scenario, the protagonist y/n is involved with mafia and is subjected to brutal torture by BTS members. The author tried to justify this by explaining that in her previous life, y/n was a murderous queen who had tortured the members. However, this does not negate her current status as a victim — even if she deserved her past life’s actions, it does not justify the current treatment. This story’s unethical portrayal of a victim's past as a means to condone current maltreatment is deeply troubling.

The author’s logic of "hate" based on past actions is fallacious and harmful. While we should learn from our past, punishing someone based on their deeds in a previous life is a dangerous precedent. It is critical to consider the impact of such narratives on both mental health and societal values. If by this logic, one had to be punished in their current life for past actions, then there would be no justice for victims and no justice at all.

Morally Questionable Representations of Underage Characters

Another set of fanfiction that made me lose interest in reading in general involved underage girls being portrayed in very mature romantic scenarios. The depiction of a 13-year-old girl getting into relationships with a 27-year-old seems extremely misplaced. The issue is not only the age gap but the romantic expectations placed on a child who is not developmentally prepared for such commitments. It is one thing to see characters as young as 13x27, but it is another to then describe inappropriate romantic scenarios, such as the Jungkook x y/n scenario where Jungkook licks y/n's genital area to alleviate period cramps. This is not only inappropriate, but it also objectifies the girl and disrespects the reality of her age and stage of development.

Stories like these consistently show a lack of respect for the actual lives of the fans reading and a deep lack of understanding of what constitutes healthy and appropriate relationships.

If anyone is considering engaging with such fanfiction, I strongly advise against it. Not only does it perpetuate harmful narratives, but it also risks causing serious emotional harm, especially to the more vulnerable members of the fanbase who may struggle to separate fiction from reality.
