Gratitude from Oneness with the Universe: A Personal Journey
Gratitude from Oneness with the Universe: A Personal Journey
Throughout my life, I have encountered many challenges, particularly during my 18 years of childhood when I faced the abuse from my parents. However, beyond these hardships, I have come to understand that these experiences have been a part of my journey toward inner peace and transformation. In stepping back from the constant mental chatter, I have discovered a profound truth: we are not separate from the universe but rather expressions of it.
The Illusion of Separation
The notion that we are isolated entities separate from the divine is an illusion created by the Thinking-Mind. This mind is perpetually engaged in mental activity and identifies solely with its form. However, when we rest in Awareness, we uncover the stunning splendour and miraculous wonder of the universe. This is not just a physical world but a reflection of the universe observing and admiring itself through human perception.
The universe has brought humans into being so that we can look, see, and know it for what it truly is. This journey of self-discovery, filled with awe and wonder, naturally leads to a sense of gratitude, but this gratitude is not directed outward to a separate entity. It is a recognition of our oneness with all that exists.
Gratitude for Everything
I feel that there are countless reasons to be grateful, and all the hours in the day would not be enough to thank God for them all. From the most basic life-giving essentials to the complexities of the material and non-material creations, everything we possess is an incredible gift bestowed upon us.
From small blessings that keep me alive to the health, happiness, and contentment I experience, every moment is filled with gratitude. I have come to understand that God knows best what to give and when to give. Asking for favors is no longer necessary because I have realized that He provides more than enough to lead a decent life. The realization of our oneness with the universe and the myriad blessings we receive is my personal journey toward true gratitude.
A Call for Reflection and Gratitude
It is essential to reflect on the incredible creation and nurturing we receive from the universe, not just from God, but from the interconnectedness of all things. Every breath we take, every moment we are blessed, is an opportunity to live with gratitude and mindfulness.
Let us acknowledge and appreciate the wonders of life and the universe, recognizing our oneness with all existence. In this journey, remembering our interconnectedness and the divine essence within each of us can bring us closer to true contentment and a fulfilling life.
In closing, remember that gratitude is not just a feeling; it is a state of being. It is the recognition that we are not separate but part of a greater whole, and that every moment is a blessing.
